Lisa Cox Named Police Public Affairs Officer

Lisa Cox has been named the Public Affairs Officer for the Springfield Police Department, effective April 30. She will be a part of the City of Springfield's Department of Public Information and Civic Engagement team and serve as the primary contact for the police department's media inquiries and news releases, as well as continuing efforts to enhance SPD's social media presence.

Under the direction of City Public Information Officer Cora Scott and Police Chief Paul Williams, Cox will also develop, coordinate and administer communication and marketing programs to promote the department's programs and services.

Before joining the City, Cox worked as a media relations specialist for Mercy Springfield Communities and as a marketing representative at SERVPRO of Springfield-Greene Co. She graduated from Missouri State University where she she earned a Bachelor of Science in public relations and a Master of Science in administrative studies in applied communication.
