Annual Bark in the Park dog festival June 8

Dogs and their owners are invited to the 24th Annual Bark in the Park dog festival Saturday, June 8, 8 a.m. to noon at Nathanael Greene-Close Memorial Park, 2400 S. Scenic Ave., Springfield.

The event includes a guided dog walk, a talent show for dogs and their families, hands-on kids' crafts and a commercial and non-profit canine vendor village.

Registration is $10 per dog and includes a (human) t-shirt. Register the day of the event at Nathanael Greene/Close Memorial Park.

All proceeds from the event go to the Cruse Dog Park, Springfield's first off-leash dog park, operated by the Springfield-Greene County Park Board at 2100 W. Catalpa.

Bark in the Park is presented by the Citizens Dog Park Committee and the Park Board. Event sponsors are Pet Warehouse and Deerfield Veterinary Hospital.
