Extended pool hours, cooling centers during Heat Advisory

The National Weather Service has issued a Heat Advisory for today, Thursday, June 27. During this heat advisory, the Springfield-Greene County Park Board offers extended outdoor pool hours and access to air-conditioned lobbies serving as cooling centers.

Grant Beach Pool, 1300 N. Grant Ave., will be open until 8 p.m. today.

All outdoor pools are also open normal hours daily 1-6:30 p.m. A full schedule is posted at parkboard.org/aquatics. Normal admission is $2.75 adults, $2.25 kids age 3-17. After 5:30 p.m. admission to all pools drops to $1, or a canned food item donation. All food collected goes to Ozarks Food Harvest.

The indoor Chesterfield Aquatics Facility, 2511 W. Republic Road, and Doling Aquatics Facility, 310 E. Talmage St., are also both open until 8:30 p.m. Admission today is $2.75 adults, $2.25 kids age 3-17. (No additional discounted admission or canned food donation admission is offered at the indoor facilities.)

Those needing a break from the heat are welcome to spend time in free cooling centers available during regular business hours during Heat Advisories, at:
