Upcoming Road Closures

Campbell Avenue Closure

Campbell Avenue between Mount Vernon Street and Walnut Street will be closed beginning on Monday, July 8, 2013 for pavement and intersection work associated with the streetscape project. Motorists are advised to use the marked detour via State Street, Grant Avenue, and College Street. Campbell Avenue should be reopened to traffic on July 23, 2013, weather permitting.

This project will continue the streetscape improvements on Campbell Avenue. The project will include the construction of sidewalks, lighting, stormwater improvements, gas and water main renewals, and traffic signal improvements. The project is funded through a Federal Transportation Enhancement Grant, a Community Development Block Grant, the Springfield-Greene County Urban Watershed Stewardship Project, the 2006 Parks and Waterways Sales Tax, and the 1/4-Cent Capital Improvement Sales Tax.

Section of Barnes to close for Public Works improvement

Barnes Avenue, from Catalpa St to Bennett St, will be closed for two weeks beginning Monday, July 8, 2013. Dewitt & Associates will be installing a new 20-foot deep sanitary sewer manhole for Kraft, which will take approximately two weeks to construct. Motorists are advised to use Grand Street and Bennett Street during the closure.
