Extended pool hours, cooling centers during Heat Advisory

The National Weather Service has issued a Heat Advisory for today, Wednesday, July 10. During this heat advisory, the Springfield-Greene County Park Board offers extended hours of discount admission to indoor pool and access to air-conditioned lobbies serving as cooling centers.

Chesterfield Indoor Aquatics Center, 2511 W. Republic Road, and Doling Indoor Aquatics Center, 301 E. Talmage, will offer discount admission 1- 8:30 p.m. today. Admission to these pools during the heat advisory is $2.25 for kids $2.75 adults.

All outdoor pools are also open normal hours daily 1-6:30 p.m. A full schedule is posted at parkboard.org/aquatics. Normal admission is $2.75 adults, $2.25 kids age 3-17. After 5:30 p.m., outdoor pool admission drops to $1, or a canned food item donation. All food collected goes to Ozarks Food Harvest.

Those needing a break from the heat are welcome to spend time in free cooling centers available during regular business hours duringHeat Advisories, at:
