Suspect information from Friday shooting

At 12:54 a.m. today, officers responded to a first degree assault near the intersection of Kimbrough and Normal.

The victim, Nicolas Mateus-Aristizabal, 22, was riding his bicycle back to his residence. The suspect vehicle pulled up alongside the victim, and a passenger asked the victim to stop. The victim continued to travel forward on his bicycle. At the intersection of Kimbrough and Normal, a passenger from the suspect vehicle fired a handgun at the victim. The victim was struck once in the leg and has been treated and released from a hospital.

The suspect vehicle was occupied by three black males in their late 20s to early 30s. The front passenger appeared to be the shooter and had long dreadlocks, a round face and appeared to be heavyset. The vehicle was a black or dark-colored late 1990s to early 2000s model four-door sedan, similar to a Hyundai Elantra.
