63rd Police Recruit Academy graduation

Graduation ceremonies for the officers of the 63rd Springfield Police Academy will be held at 7 p.m. on Friday, August 2, at the Praise Assembly Church, 3535 N. Glenstone.

These 14 graduates have undergone 1,019 hours (25 weeks) of intense law enforcement training. Upon graduation, they will be assigned to an experienced field-training officer (FTO) for approximately 520 hours (13 weeks) of on-the-job training. Once they complete the FTO program, these new officers will be assigned to the Uniform Operations Bureau.
