Two arrested for separate fires
Springfield Fire Marshals have arrested two people in connection with two separate fires that are believed to be intentionally set.
One male is suspected of setting a vacant house on fire in the 2100 block of N. Campbell on November 26, 2012. The suspect is also a person of interest in several other fires in the same geographical area. His name is not being released pending charges from the Greene County Prosecutor's Office.
Arson charges have been filed against Joshua A. Kitterman in a separate fire that occurred on January 8, 2013 in the 1500 block of S. Wildan Ave. in Springfield. Investigators believe Kitterman set the fire following a domestic dispute with his girlfriend. No one was home at the time of the fire, but it caused major damage to the duplex. In addition to arson charges, two additional charges of 2nd degree domestic assault and unlawful use of a weapon have also been filed against him related to this case.
