News Release

For Immediate Release

Campbell closure again tonight, will open in time for rush hour Friday

As part of improvements under way at U.S. 160 (Campbell Avenue) and Bryant Street, construction activities will again require closure of the northbound lane of Campbell Avenue between Weaver Road and Plainview Road between the hours of 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. Sept. 5-6 (Thursday night through Friday morning). Contractors again hit bedrock last night, so excavation took longer than planned. They stopped work early this morning so the road would be open in time for rush-hour traffic, which they will do again Friday morning if needed.

Digital message boards will be in place to notify motorists and detour signs will be positioned to route traffic around and through the construction. Motorists are encouraged to take Plainview Road east to National Avenue as a detour. Residents of Sherwood Forest will again have access via two-way traffic in the northbound lane of Campbell Avenue.

Construction activities will continue for two nights, Friday Sept. 6 and Monday Sept. 9, with one lane of traffic open in the northbound and southbound lanes.
