Police/Fire-led 'boot camp' teams battle it out today at friendly competition

WHO: City of Springfield Code 3 Boot Camp participants

WHAT: Battle of the Boot Camps

WHEN: Noon-1 p.m.

WHERE: Central's Harrison Stadium/Curry Sports Complex, 900 N. Summit Ave

WHY: As part of the City's employee wellness program, inBalance, Police and Fire personnel take turns leading the Code 3 Boot Camp exercise class for City employees. Teams from Police and Fire-led classes will enjoy some friendly competition today as they challenge each other in events such as a fire hose relay, dress-up (in Police/Fire garb) relay and tug o' war. The winning team will take home medals, a team trophy and, of course, bragging rights. City employees will cheer on their favorite team and enjoy lunch from The Wheelhouse Street Fare in the Tindle Mills parking lot.
