Two weeks left for Turkey Trot Early Bird registration

Turkey Trotters have two weeks left to take advantage of Early Bird discount race registration for the 19th Annual Turkey Trot 5K Run/Walk, held Thanksgiving morning in downtown Springfield.

Early-bird registration is $20 for adults, $15 for kids 12 and younger, and is available:

Early Bird registration closes Friday, Nov. 22 at 5 p.m. Registration remains closed until the day before the race.

On-site registration opens Wednesday, Nov. 27, 8 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. at the Springfield Expo Center, 635 E. St. Louis St., in downtown Springfield. On-site registration continues 6:15-7 a.m. on race day. On-site registration is $25/adults and $20/children.

Turkey Trot is Springfield's largest timed 5K race of the year and the largest Thanksgiving Day 5K in Missouri, attracting 9,007 participants in 2012. The event takes place at 8 a.m. in downtown Springfield and the MSU campus, and is held rain, snow or shine. Proceeds benefit the Developmental Center of the Ozarks and Springfield-Greene County Park Board's Scholarship Fund. The event also serves as a food drive for Ozarks Food Harvest.
