A Plan for the Next 20 Years
Springfield's previous Comprehensive Plan, Vision 20/20, was created in 1996 and was last updated in 2004. The City has experienced significant changes in the last 15 years and some of the initiatives and recommendations from Vision 20/20 are becoming outdated. This can lead to poor planning and missed development opportunities.
In June 2019, the City started the process of updating the Comprehensive Plan. This update, called Forward SGF, will account for changes in the past 15 years as well as address future needs. The new plan was adopted by City Council for adoption in November 2022.
