EFFECTIVE FRIDAY, JULY 1, 2016 THE CITY OF SPRINGFIELD IS CHANGING DEADLINES TO SCHEDULE INSPECTIONS. ALL INSPECTION REQUESTS MUST BE CALLED IN NO LATER THAN 4 P.M. THE DAY PRIOR TO THE DAY THE INSPECTION IS BEING REQUESTED FOR.
THERE ARE TWO EXCEPTIONS TO THIS CHANGE
You can still call in by 7:30 a.m. MONDAY MORNING, to request a same day inspection. The City of Springfield realizes that activity happens over the weekend and sometimes it's more activity than originally planned, resulting in the need for a Monday inspection.
The emergency clause is still in place. If you are working in an emergency situation, you are still required to get your permit within 24 hours and can schedule an inspection at the time you get your permit.
The reason for this change is that the City of Springfield Inspectors are working with new equipment and are leaving from their homes and starting to inspect without going to the office first. This change is getting inspectors into the field and inspecting earlier
