Application Status Definitions

During the application process, a candidate's application may go through several status changes.  To view your application status log into your account here.  Use the guide below to help you understand your application's status. If you have questions please reach out to your recruiter.

STATUSDEFINITION 
Active ApplicationApplication has been completed and was successfully submitted online.  Application will be reviewed for potential match between department’s hiring needs and candidate’s qualifications for position.
Application in ReviewApplication is being reviewed by Human Resources and/or the hiring department to see if candidate meets the qualifications for the position. 
EligibleCandidate has passed the testing and/or interview phase(s) as required and has been placed on the eligible list for the position.  For more information about the eligible list, please read about our hiring process here. 
InterviewCandidate has been invited to participate in an interview. Check e-mail for instructions for your recruiter.
No Longer ActiveThe candidate is no longer active. Typically this means the eligible list is no longer active. To learn more about the eligible list click here
Background Check Candidate's background packet is under review. Typically only applicable to law enforcement and public safety positions.
Skills TestingCandidate has been invited to participate in an interview. Check e-mail for instructions for your recruiter.
Typing Test
Candidates has been invited to participate in a typing test. Check e-mail for instructions from your recruiter.
Written Exam
Candidate has been invited to participate in a written exam. Check e-mail for instructions from your recruiter.
911 Information Session Applicable to 911 Telecommunicator candidates only. Candidate has been invited to attend an information session.
