We work to prevent the spread of tuberculosis by providing case management for people who have been exposed to or show symptoms of tuberculosis.
Springfield-Greene County Health does not offer tuberculosis testing, however there are many walk-in clinics in the community that provide this service.
Our nurses provide one-on-one attention to clients, meeting with them routinely during their treatment to make sure medication is taken properly and check on the client’s reaction to the medication. The length of treatment varies depending on the client’s needs and response to treatment.
You are eligible for case management, at no cost, if you:
- Are exposed to a known case of tuberculosis
- Have tuberculosis disease or latent tuberculosis infection
- Show symptoms of tuberculosis disease
