Design Guide for Public Improvements

The following three technical manuals outline the requirements for Public Improvements constructed in the City of Springfield, Missouri.

November 1, 2017 specification updates:

2017 updates made to the General Conditions, Design Standards and Technical Specifications manuals of the Design Guide for Public Improvements will take effect Nov. 1, 2017. These changes in specification have been developed over the last two years with input from the City’s partners in the design and contracting community. Some changes are significant and it is highly advised that contractors, developers and others review these documents in detail when bidding or designing work within the city.

All projects submitted beginning Nov. 1 must comply with the new manual changes.
