What advice do you have for prospective employees?

Take a moment to get acquainted with all of the amazing City departments. It is easy to get busy and silo yourself in your own area. Try not to miss out on the experience of being part of such a dynamic and diverse team.

What’s something you’ve learned since working for the City?

The City of Springfield is so caring and compassionate. My position with the Health department has allowed me to collaborate with community partners to help provide resources and services to individuals in need. It is truly amazing to see what we can accomplish when we work together.

What’s the hardest part of your job?

Not having unlimited time and resources. There is always more we would like to accomplish and more people that we want to help. It can be very challenging to see a need and not be able to immediately fix it.

What’s the best part of your job?

Having the opportunity to work with my amazing team at the Health department in collaboration with community partners to help make our community a healthful place to live.

What do you admire about this organization?

The City’s commitment to the employees. As soon as I joined the team I felt welcomed and valued.
