Brittney Bywater, Graphic Production Assistant, Parks

Brittney BywaterBrittney began working for the City in 2014.

What are some words to describe the City of Springfield?

Growth, caring, full of opportunities.

Why do you do what you do?

I enjoy taking multiple pieces – such as finding the right photo, keeping text simple and quick to understand, combining colors and fonts – all to create something unique and functional. Graphic design is a powerful communication tool.

What’s the best part of your job?

Seeing the end result of a successful communication piece help people better understand or learn about our programs and facilities.

What do you admire about this organization?

I admire that the City fosters an environment for supportive coworkers and leadership that are willing to help one another and put our strengths together. Team work makes the dream work.

What’s something that Springfield as a city should strive for?

Springfield should continue to be open about new ideas and different ways to improve and build upon the city. I’d also love to see more art and visual identity incorporated around our unique town

If you could switch your job with anyone else within the City, whose job would you want?

I might have to say a Lake Springfield Boathouse attendant. Lake Springfield Park is my favorite, and I would love to be there every day, helping people rent kayaks and set up events in the boathouse.
