The Springfield Police Department's Special Victims Unit is overseen by Sergeant Chad Hampton. Seargent Hampton is in charge of assigning cases to the Special Victims Unit detectives. SPD has two detectives who primarily handle sexual assault cases and five other detectives who handle a mix of sexual assault and domestic violence cases.
