Guided Wellness Program
The Worksite Wellness program includes guided program development to help employers implement evidence-based health promotion interventions or strategies in their worksites to improve the health and well-being of their employees. This free program includes assessing your worksite, developing wellness programs and policies, implementation and evaluation. To enroll, please fill out a brief survey to ensure we are able to meet your needs.
A worksite wellness assessment involves learning about a worksite and the health of its employees. It can be used as a starting point and help determine the priorities of the wellness initiatives. It is important to assess employee health from a number of perspectives using multiple sources of data for a more complete picture of the determinants of health.
A comprehensive assessment contains:
- An assessment of the current worksite environment, polices, and programs.
- An employee survey to gain input to identify needs and interests.
- Collecting other data, examples include injury prevalence, workers compensation, absenteeism, use of existing health programs such as EAP or fitness facilities.
The Springfield-Greene County Health Department can help you assess whether you have implemented evidence-based health promotion interventions or strategies in you worksites to improve the health and well-being of their employees using the CDC Worksite Health Scorecard.
Policy and program development
Once your worksite wellness assessment has been completed, the next step is developing an action plan. The plan will include what programs, policies, and environmental supports will be part of your worksite wellness program.
Your personalized action plan will include:
- Overall goals and objectives
- Interventions to be implemented
- Specific recommendations on how to implement
- Defining roles, responsibilities, and resources
- Time frame for completion
- Evaluation plan
Implementation and evaluation
Once your action plan is completed, we will assist you with the implementation of your program by connecting you with local wellness opportunities and evidence-based strategies you can implement on your own.
Finally, we will help you demonstrate the success of your program through evaluation of employee engagement and improvement in employee health and wellness. We will also provide you with guidance on calculating your return on investment.
