Lindsay Bein

Lindsay has worked for the City since 2017.

What are three words to describe the City of Springfield?

Caring, family, equality.

Why do you do what you do?

I have been in government for almost 19 years total and feel it is where I was meant to be. I am a service person at heart. I want to be the person behind the scenes taking care of the people making the decisions and changes that better our city.

What’s the best part of your job?

I work with some amazing, caring people, both directly and indirectly. My immediate group knows how to have that perfect balance of professionalism and fun! We participate in silly contests to bring us together, there is an employee recognition program to remind us we actually do matter, and we have lucked out to have a great supervisor who lets us know he is behind us if we want to better ourselves, whether it be through additional schooling/classes or by allowing us time to experience other divisions to see how they function.

What are you passionate about?

Enjoyment. This is the life we were given, and it is completely what you make of it. I try to have a smile or a laugh for anyone who walks through our doors. You never know what a kind face or word can do for someone.
