Planning Overview
As part of the Comprehensive Plan, Forward SGF, the City enlisted the help of planning consultants Progressive Urban Management Associates (PUMA) for an update to the 2006, Commercial Street-Historic District - Strategy for Success.
This plan is a contributing element of the overall comprehensive plan that identifies key issues, challenges and opportunities facing Commercial Street. The plan also explores national trends and innovative strategies championed by districts elsewhere. Included in the Plan is a series of recommendations to help guide and improve Commercial Street’s revenue structure, patron and business engagement, redevelopment, and organizational growth of Commercial Street.
