In a United States Army Corps of Engineers feasibility study conducted for the Jordan Creek watershed, five potential areas were identified as suitable for effective regional detention. The Jordan Creek Regional Basin B6 location is an area where enhanced stormwater detention can help mitigate flooding along Jordan Creek through downtown Springfield. The proposed detention facility would consist of modified outlet structure, earthen embankment along the north side of E Chestnut Expressway, and a preserved stream buffer area located along Jordan Creek.
General Location:
The proposed project is generally located north, northeast of the intersection of E Chestnut Expressway and E Trafficway St.
