Vaccine for High Risk Individuals, 65+ Population

vaccine updates

As of Monday, January 18, the governor's office has approved vaccine distribution for certain high-risk individuals, including:

Anyone aged 65 and older, Adults with the following conditions: Cancer Chronic Kidney Disease, COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease), Intellectual and/or developmental disabilities such as Down syndrome, Heart Conditions such as heart failure, CAD (coronary artery disease) or cardiomyopathies, Immunocompromised state from solid organ transplant, Severe Obesity (BMI >40kg/m2), Pregnancy, Sickle Cell Disease, Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus

Although vaccine supply is limited at this time, it is slowly becoming available to individuals at high-risk. We expect most individuals will receive the vaccine from their primary healthcare provider. Local healthcare partners have established a variety of ways for individuals to stay updated with vaccine efforts.

CoxHealth has launched a survey to see which of their patients in Phase 1B are interested in receiving the vaccine. This survey is designed for CoxHealth patients, and is available through the patient portal on

Mercy has created an online form to help people determine their eligibility, according to the state’s vaccination effort, and register to get a vaccine.

Jordan Valley Community Health Center will include vaccination information on its website.
