Vaccine for High Risk Individuals, 65+ Population

As of Monday, January 18, the governor's office has approved vaccine distribution for certain high-risk individuals, including: 

Anyone aged 65 and older, Adults with the following conditions: Cancer Chronic Kidney Disease, COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease), Intellectual and/or developmental disabilities such as Down syndrome, Heart Conditions such as heart failure, CAD (coronary artery disease) or cardiomyopathies, Immunocompromised state from solid organ transplant, Severe Obesity (BMI >40kg/m2), Pregnancy, Sickle Cell Disease, Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus

Our community is actively vaccinating individuals with certain high-risk conditions and individuals 65 and older. Appointments are being made available regularly through several organizations. Eligible individuals are encouraged to schedule an appointment as soon as possible to receive a COVID-19 vaccine. Please keep in mind that slots do fill up quickly. If you qualify to receive a vaccine and have any issues with scheduling an appointment, contact the health department’s COVID-19 call center at (417) 874-1211.
