Troy Powell, Urban Forestry Technician, Public Works

Troy has worked for the City since 2012.

What have you learned since working at the City?

What I have learned since working at the City is that there is greatness in diversity. Every job is important and everyone is needed.

What are you passionate about?

My passion in life is in my family. I have an amazing, beautiful wife of 34 years, two wonderful kids with wonderful spouses and two of the cutest, smartest grandsons on the planet … my greatest joy comes from being with them.

How does your position impact the community?

I feel like my position at the City has a huge impact on our community. Planting trees has environmental, social, physical, and spiritual benefits, not only for our present generation but for generations to come. We plant trees for future generations.

If you could switch your job with anyone else, whose would you want?

If I could switch my job with someone else … Honestly, I really don’t have an answer for this, I love my job and can’t think of anywhere else I want to be.
