Weston Marquart, Zookeeper, Park Board

Weston has worked for the City since 2009.

What have you learned since working at the City?

I’ve learned a tremendous amount since I started working at the City. Caring for fragile and endangered animals in a constantly changing environment is the most globally impactful, educative tool that I have learned on the job.

What are you passionate about?

I am passionate about education and conservation. This job allows me to be part of something much larger in keeping species extant for generations to come.

How does your position impact the community?

My position impacts both our local community and global community positively. I am afforded the opportunity to educate people about the effects of our daily actions on native and exotic animals.

If you could switch your job with anyone else, whose would you want?

If I could swap jobs with any person that works for the City I would choose the City Manager, Jason Gage. I might have to move his office outside, but I would enjoy researching each and every department within the City
