Training Programs & Services

The Missouri Job Center is a comprehensive one-stop for adult job training, youth training programs, career services and business services. The Job Center partners with local training providers in retraining those who are out of work and those who are just entering the workforce at no cost to the individual. Participants must meet guidelines to qualify. The Job Center is also supported by state staff from the Department of Higher Education and Workforce Development to ensure Missourians are workforce ready.

Aspire Youth Program—This program assists youth and young adults, ages 14-24, in attaining education, training and work experience that leads to employment. Aspire staff work intensively with young people to identify strengths, as well as areas of need, focusing on long-term success.

WIOA Adult/Dislocated Worker—Pays for training for individuals 18 and older, within the five highest growing job sectors within the Ozark Region: Healthcare, Construction, Manufacturing, IT, and Transportation/Logistics.

Green for Greene—An EPA grant-funded, 5-week training program Offers free training in which participants earn 13 certifications in environmental-related careers. Participants will gain hands-on experience in a variety of fields, gaining the skills needed to be prepared to enter the workforce.

APPLIE Pathway—Through a $3 million Department of Labor grant, staff provide training and job readiness skills to justice involved individuals who will be released from the prison system and relocating back to the Ozark Region. Companies who hire these individuals and provide on-the-job training will receive reimbursement for 50% of wages for up to 1,040 hours of full-time employment.

Show-Me Heroes—Show-Me Heroes is an On-the-Job training program which benefits both Veterans and companies. If Veteran applicants with less than five years elapsed from their honorable discharge date are hired they may be eligible for training with the company for up to 1040 hours, of which the company is reimbursed half of their wages for the training period.  

Apprenticeships—Apprenticeships are a career pathway in which participants obtain paid work experience, classroom instruction, and transferable credentials while employers develop their future workforce. A win-win relationship for both the employer and employee! There are more than 13,000 apprenticeship opportunities in the State of Missouri.

Skill UP—For those who receive SNAP benefits (food stamps), free short-term training scholarships and employment assistance are available through this program.

Let's Get To Work--For those with transportation barriers getting a job or maintaining employment can be difficult. This fund was established to help remove those barriers by helping with transportation needs such as bus fare, vehicle taxes, car repair and maintenance and more!
