Emergency Assistance
The COVID-19 public health crisis has created a variety of challenges for many families, changing the way we all live and work. To provide critical assistance to individuals and their families experiencing hardship during this crisis the Springfield-Greene County Health Department has created this hub to ensure people have access to resources that will help keep their families safe and thriving.
Below is a list of opportunities in the community for assistance:
Rent/Mortgage/Utilities Assistance
Greene County Emergency Rental Assistance: To best reach those in need, Greene County has begun coordinating fund distribution efforts with area organizations and community partners that have existing experience with utility and housing assistance programs:

Greene County has structured this program so you can make an appointment with a trusted Community Agency and fill out the application together. They ask that you contact one of the partnership agencies to schedule an appointment.
SAFHR – Missouri COVID Rental Assistance: The State Assistance for Housing Relief (SAFHR) for Renters program provides rent and utility assistance for eligible Missouri residents who have been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. You may be eligible for rent and utility payment relief, paid directly to your landlord or utility company.
O’Reilly Center for Hope: The O’Reilly Center for Hope brings together multiple partner agencies in support of affordable housing and financial stability. Mental Health Resources
Burrell Behavioral Health: Burrell offers individualized therapy and counseling services ages 3+. To access services individuals can visit their website or call 417-761-5000 with any questions. Their team will evaluate and assess your needs and identify the appropriate service for you.
Be Well Community (through Burrell Behavioral Health): The Be Well Community was created to help enhance the emotional health and well-being of individuals, organizations and communities. They do this through virtual and live public and private experiences. These experiences are rooted in brain science and are led by a team of experts. During sessions, participants learn about and experience the benefits of self-care, mindfulness, connection, and hope.
Betty and Bobby Allison Ozarks Counseling Center: The Ozarks Counseling Center provides individual, couple, family, and group counseling sessions. Counseling sessions are 50 minutes long. Appointments are available during the following times:
- Monday through Thursday from 9AM – 7PM
- Friday from 9AM – 3PM
- Saturday from 9AM – 12PM
