Medicaid Enrollment

Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, the federal Public Health Emergency declaration allowed for recipients of Medicaid to be automatically reenrolled without having to complete the eligibility determination process. On March 31, 2023, this continuous reenrollment ended. All Medicaid recipients, including children, must be redetermined for eligibility by the anniversary of when their Medicaid coverage first began in order to avoid a disruption in their coverage. For some in Missouri, this will be as soon as June 2023. While the Missouri Family Support Division (FSD) will be reaching out to enrollees with information on renewal, if your contact information has changed or you have moved, they may not be able to reach you. If your contact information or address has changed, you will need to notify the FSD as soon as possible. You can do this:

Sample Annual Renewal Process

The process below is an example for the annual renewal that is due in June 2023.

March 2023

FSD will check cases for updates against the US Postal Services National Change of Address and make updates.

April 2023

FSD will start the ex-parte process to see if it can automatically determine a participant's eligibility.

May 2023

FSD will mail participants a decision letter OR a pre-populated form if it needs more information.

June 30, 2023

Participants must return pre-populated forms and any documents required by the deadline.
