City of Springfield American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) Committee Meeting
WHO: City of Springfield ARPA Committee
WHAT: The primary focus of this meeting of the City's ARPA committee will be discussing the homeless/housing needs that the committee has set aside funding for. The City of Springfield received $40 million from the federal government as part of The American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) - a $1.9 trillion federal aid package passed by Congress in March 2022 to provide financial aid to families, governments, businesses, schools, non-profits and others impacted by the pandemic. Of that $1.9 trillion, $350 billion is going to state and local governments as part of the Fiscal Recovery Fund.

WHY: The ARPA Committee is tasked with making recommendations for the allocation of the City's $40 federal ARPA dollars. In June, the committee recommended, and City Council approved $31.3 million in allocations.
