Brock Rowe named director of Building Development Services

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

roweBrock1963-X3Brock Rowe, interim director of the City’s Building Development Services Department since March, has been named director. Rowe joined BDS as assistant director in May 2021.

“We are excited to add Brock to our leadership team,” said City Manager Jason Gage. “He is bright, energetic, engaging and ready to go. Brock is all about continuous process improvement and will do a terrific job serving our community!"

Rowe, who grew up in the Ozarks, previously served as a senior building inspector for the City of Branson. He has a master of science degree in construction management and a bachelor of arts degree in history and education, both from the University of Arkansas. 

He has extensive experience in the building trades, working for 18 years in construction as a carpenter and foreman for construction projects in northwest Arkansas and southwest Missouri. He transitioned to a career in code enforcement and became a building inspector for the City of Branson, where he acquired eight International Code Council certifications. 

Since joining the City of Springfield, Rowe has earned a Certified Floodplain Managers Certification from the Association of State Floodplain Managers.

“In the time I have spent at the City of Springfield the staff has become my family. I value each staff member and I am very excited to lead this team,” Rowe said. “I am excited about the future of Springfield and look forward to serving its citizens.”

Rowe’s salary will be $125,000 per year.
