Springfield Fire Department releases 2022 Community Engagement Report

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Springfield firefighters save lives not just with hoses and axes, but through education and engagement. In 2022, the Springfield Fire Department reached the highest number of citizen engagements since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. The department led a successful Fire Prevention Month in October, educating more than 13,000 students and their families about fire safety. Firefighters participated in the Shop with a Hero event, continued Project RED Zone outreach, graduated 14 from the pre-apprenticeship program, welcomed the new Ladder 8 into service, opened the rebuilt Fire Station 4 and renovated Fire Station 10, among other activities.

Learn about all of this and more in the department’s 2022 Community Engagement Report.
