Free COVID-19, flu, and RSV testing continues, moves to Wednesdays

Document

The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services will still be offering free, drive-through testing for COVID-19, Influenza A & B (flu) and Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) in Springfield. Beginning April 5, weekly testing opportunities will be offered every Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Teamsters Hall (1850 E Division St.).

Those in need of testing are not required to make an appointment and do not have to be a resident of Greene County. Patients will be notified of their test results by phone or email the day after they are tested. For more information about getting your results, visit nexgendiagnosticservices.com or call 417-362-6398.

Due to the similarities in symptoms, the best way to know for sure what you have is by getting tested. While many recover on their own with these viruses, there are still severe cases which lead to hospitalization and sometimes death.

It’s important to continue practicing good hygiene like washing your hands, covering your mouth and nose when sneezing or coughing, staying home when sick and getting vaccinated against COVID-19 and the flu. To find a vaccine opportunity that works for you, visit vaccine417.com. Everyone is encouraged to take every precaution they can to stop the transmission of these viruses.

Springfield-Greene County Health also continues to offer free COVID-19 testing every Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 8 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. For more information or to make an appointment, go to COVIDtesting417.com or call our COVID-19 Call Center at 417-864-1211.
