City searching for G.W. Brockman in reference to a burial lot at Hazelwood Cemetery

 PUBLIC NOTICE

 April 6, 2023


 TO
: G. W. Brockman, if living, or his or her unknown heirs, devisees, grantees, assignees, donees, alienees, legatees, administrators, executors, guardians, mortgagees, trustees, legal representatives, and successors, and all other persons, corporations, or successors claiming by, through or under him or her.  (Graves located in the SE¼, Lot 34, Hazelwood Cemetery). 

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that, pursuant to Section 214.209 RSMo., the City of Springfield, Missouri, wishes to search for heirs and beneficiaries to determine whether the above-referenced burial sites shall be deemed abandoned, with the right of ownership to said burial sites then reverting back to the City. Said lots are located in Hazelwood Cemetery in the City of Springfield, Greene County, Missouri. Seventy-five years or more have passed since the last recorded activity on the burial sites. Following a search, the lot owner, heirs, beneficiaries, grantees or successors cannot be located. Unless any person, within one year of the final publication of this notice, files a statement in writing with the office of the City Clerk, 840 Boonville Ave., Springfield, MO 65802, explaining what rights such person may have, how such rights were acquired, and expressing that such person desires to assert such rights in the burial sites, then the above-referenced burial sites shall be deemed abandoned.

This notice is to remain published on springfieldmo.gov until April 6, 2024.
