Two SPD Lieutenants Graduate Missouri Police Chiefs’ Command College
Springfield, Mo. – Two Springfield Police Department commanders were honored today as part of the Missouri Police Chiefs Charitable Foundation (MPCCF) Command College. Lt. Nelson Kibby and Lt. Annesha Umbarger graduated after completing the seven-month program.
The MPCCF aims to provide valuable training for current and future law enforcement supervisors, commanders, chiefs, and sheriffs. The program has graduated 292 individuals since its inception. The training program is designed to not only provide command-level training, but also the opportunity for Command College students to earn a master’s degree through Lincoln University. Umbarger holds a master’s degree in criminology from Missouri State University.
“Continuing education for department staff, officers, and commanders is a cornerstone of effectively serving our community,” Police Chief Paul Williams said. “I am proud to have Lt. Kibby and Lt. Umbarger join the more than 20 previous Command College graduates from the Springfield Police Department.”
