The City will host the second in a series of drive-thru Packet and Supply Pickup events 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, April 21 for those who have registered to volunteer for Clean Green Springfield, a community-wide cleanup and beautification initiative. The drive-through event located at the City’s Environmental Resource Center (290 E. Central Street) will equip participants with T-shirts, volunteer information, litter cleanup supplies and incentive items.
Additional Packet and Supply Pickup opportunities for volunteers to collect information and supplies will be communicated with registrants at a later date.
Clean Green Springfield 2023 Initiative Update:
More than 1,200 have registered to participate to date in a variety of litter cleanup, beautification and neighborhood events. Individuals, families, civic and faith groups and employer teams are encouraged to register for one or more of numerous cleanup and beautification opportunities offered April – May.
Special disposal opportunities provided through Clean Green will begin in May providing disposal and recycling for a handful of hard-to-dispose of items including mattresses, televisions and tires.

Upcoming Clean Green Events:
Airport Boulevard Beautification - 7:30 – 10:30 a.m., Saturday, April 22
Help plant 1,000 plants and spread mulch in the landscaping areas just north of the roundabout on Airport Boulevard near the Springfield-Branson National Airport.
Woodland Heights Neighborhood Cleanup – 6 a.m. - 8 p.m. | Tuesday, April 25 at 304 W. Chase Street
Thirteen of the City’s registered Neighborhood Associations are hosting Neighborhood Cleanup days throughout the spring. Volunteers are needed to help neighbors unload items at the drop-off site, cleanup alley and roadways and help with bulky item pickup throughout the neighborhood.
Route 66 Mulch Madness – 8 a.m. – 10 a.m. | Saturday, April 29
Help cleanup litter, spread mulch and do some replanting in two medians along an original section of Route 66 at College and Scenic.
Clean Green Springfield Tire Toss – 7 a.m. – 2 p.m., Saturday, May 6

Recycling tires can help harmful chemicals stay out of the earth, water, and air. It can prevent tires from becoming disease-carrying-pest breeding grounds and can keep them from starting fires.
Springfield citizens have the opportunity to drop off up to 8 tires per residential household. Tires must be detached from rims. Tires must be transported to the event. No home pickup option is available.
