Springfield-Greene County Health’s Women, Infants & Children (WIC) family health and nutrition program invites the community to visit its location at 2105 W Kearney St. on April 28 between 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. to tour the location and learn more about how WIC serves the community.
This location in north Springfield opened at the beginning of 2023 to make WIC services accessible to more eligible families in Greene County. In the three months since the location opened its doors, more than 3,200 WIC members have received food package benefits, nutrition education, breastfeeding support and other services.
The WIC Open House gives eligible families in the area the opportunity to see the location, meet the staff, get information from community partners and learn more about how becoming a WIC member can help them have a healthy pregnancy and ensure their child gets the nutrition they need in their first five years. The Open House is a child friendly event, with activities planned by Springfield-Greene County Library District, Springfield-Greene County Park Board and the Dickerson Park Zoo.
