Skate Into a New Career at Hiring Event Hosted by the Missouri Job Center

The Missouri Job Center is hosting a Multi-Industry Hiring Event on Wednesday, August 30, from 1 – 4 p.m. at Jordan Valley Ice Park, 635 E. Trafficway in Springfield. Approximately 30 employers will be on site to visit with job seekers. 

"As kids head back to school parents may be looking for full or part-time employment, or simply a new career opportunity," said Ericka Schmeeckle, Interim Director of Workforce Development for the City of Springfield. "This event features employers from both the public and private sector in a variety of industries with jobs that fit different lifestyle needs," she added. 

Participating employers include: Acorn Claims, Alpha House, Bayada Home Health, Blue Iguana Car Wash, Cintas, City of Branson, City Utilities, Community Blood Center of the Ozarks, CoxHealth, Dept. of Social Services, Edmonds Dental Prosthetics, Erlen Group, Greene County, Hayden Machinery, Howell Commercial Refrigeration, Jack Henry, Jordan Valley Community Health Center, Kelly Clean, Loren Cook, L&W Industries, McCormick/French’s Food Co, Missouri State University, Myers/Buckhorn, O’Reilly Auto Parts, Paddio, Phoenix Senior Living, Solar Scapes Construction, Storee Construction and The Arc of the Ozarks.

Job seekers should bring copies of their resume and be prepared for possible on-site interviews. The Missouri Job Center on East Sunshine can assist individuals with updating their resume, and has a Career Closet to provide individuals with interview appropriate clothing in preparation for this hiring event. These resources are free to anyone looking for employment.
