FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
The intersection of North Patterson Avenue and East Pythian Street will close for approximately 45 days beginning Monday, Nov. 30 for construction of stormwater improvements to the Jordan Creek Detention Basin.
This project includes enlarging two existing water retention basins at the Cooper Tennis Complex and installing more than 3,000 feet of storm pipe on the north side of Pythian and the west side of Patterson. These improvements are aimed at reducing flooding that occurs in the neighborhood to the south and runoff on Pythian and Patterson.
The project, which is expected to be complete in May 2016, is estimated to cost $1,258,935. Funding for the project is from the 2013 1/4-cent Capital Improvements Sales Tax. The contractor on the project is Hartman and Company Inc.
