FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

At 2:13 a.m. on Dec. 12, the Springfield Police Department was dispatched to a robbery involving a handgun that had just taken place at a convenience store at 609 E. Elm.
In the parking lot of the store, two males exited their car and walked toward the male victim. Kane Tanski (9-23-93) pulled out a semi-automatic handgun and pointed it at the victim. Kane threatened to shoot both the victim and his friend, while Skye Tanski (12-23-96) threatened to hit the victim. Skye then punched the victim, knocking him to the ground. Kane took the victim's backpack, and they got back in their car and fled eastbound.
Suspects were pulled over by police near the intersection of Glenstone and Elm shortly after the incident took place. Kane had a loaded handgun on his person, and store surveillance footage confirmed the robbery and assault.
Kane and Skye Tanski were both arrested and are currently in Greene County Jail on $100,000 bond. The Greene County Prosecuting Attorney's Office has charged Kane with first-degree robbery and armed criminal action and Skye with first-degree robbery.
