FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
At 7:07 p.m. on Jan. 26 Springfield police officers responded to 2515 N. Glenstone for a crash involving a vehicle and pedestrian.
Pedestrians Petra Hensler, 53, and Kevin Drake, 56, both of Springfield, were traveling westbound and crossing Glenstone when Hensler was struck by a vehicle traveling southbound in the outside lane. Hensler was transported to a hospital with critical injuries. She succumbed to those injuries on Jan. 30. Drake as well as the driver, Anthony Hutchins, 19, of Springfield, were not injured. Hensler’s next of kin has been notified. The investigation is ongoing, and there is no indication that impairment was a factor in the crash.
