FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

A burn demonstration will be the highlight of a daylong event aimed at educating attendees about residential fire sprinklers. The Missouri Home Fire Sprinkler Summit includes information on the differences in systems, the costs, proper installation and more.

"Our goal is to encourage those in the fire service and construction industry to help us promote residential sprinklers," said Springfield Fire Chief David Hall. "Ultimately, we hope to better encourage homeowners to consider residential sprinklers as an option in their homes."

The Missouri Home Fire Sprinkler Summit is from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on March 23, at the Springfield Police and Fire Training Center, 2620 West Battlefield Road in Springfield. The event is hosted by the Missouri Fire Sprinkler Coalition and the Springfield Fire Department.

Those in attendance will include fire service personnel, building inspectors, home builders, contractors, water purveyors, and safety advocates.

In addition to a number of presenters, attendees will also get to experience a life, side-by-side burn, including a sprinkler demonstration, hosted by Chief Jim Ludden and the Bolivar City Fire Department.

This is the second Sprinkler Summit hosted in the state by the Missouri Fire Sprinkler Association. Registration can be completed through the morning of the event by visiting missourisprinklersummit.floktu.com.
