In an effort to serve the public during the spring yard clean-up season, the City’s Yardwaste Recycling Center and Lone Pine Recycling Center will be open on Sundays 1-5 p.m. through May 15.
In addition, the City’s three recycling centers will switch to summer hours (8 a.m.-6 p.m.) effective Tuesday, April 5.
All facilities are closed Mondays and national holidays.
Directions & Fees
Yardwaste Recycling Center
The Yardwaste Recycling Center is located near the Southwest Treatment Plant. Drive west on Sunshine (Hwy. 60). Turn left (south) on to Farm Road 115. Turn left (east) onto Farm Road 164. Follow signs to the (YRC). Access is also available by going west on James River Freeway to Sunshine (Hwy. 60), turning right (east) onto Sunshine (Hwy. 60). Turn right (south) onto Farm Road 115, turning left (East) onto Farm Road 164. Follow the signs to the (YRC). Leaves are accepted free of charge from City residents. Honor system fees in the amount of 50 cents per bag of leaves apply to non-residents. Brush is accepted from Springfield/Greene County residents with a $4 per vehicle fee. The revenue from the fees, donations and product sales help offset the cost of operating the YRC. Commercially generated yardwaste is accepted at this location only.
Lone Pine Avenue Recycling Center
The Lone Pine Avenue Recycling Center is located at 3020 S. Lone Pine Ave., one block south of the Battlefield Road/Lone Pine Avenue intersection). This center accepts limited quantities of leaves and yardwaste. Honor system fees in the amount of 50 cents per bag of leaves from City residents and $1 per bag from non-residents are necessary to pay the cost of transporting the yardwaste to the Yardwaste Recycling Center. Commercially generated yardwaste is not accepted at this location.
Franklin Avenue Recycling Center
The Franklin Avenue Recycling Center is located at 731 N. Franklin Ave., at the corner of Franklin Avenue and Poplar Street. This center accepts limited quantities of leaves and yardwaste. Honor system fees in the amount of 50 cents per bag of leaves from City residents and $1 per bag from non-residents are necessary to pay the cost of transporting the yardwaste to the Yardwaste Recycling Center. Commercially generated yardwaste is not accepted at this location.
