19th Annual C-Street Loftwalk, City Market seasonal opening Saturday

The 19th Annual C-Street Loftwalk is moving to the spring and teaming up with the Season Opening Celebration of the C-Street City Market, offering the perfect taste of Historic C-Street.

As Mary Collette, Commercial Club president says, “We love to share all the great stuff that is C-Street; it’s not a stretch to say many of our residents are here as a result of their visits to our sweet little street.”

The 19th Annual C-Street Loftwalk is Commercial Club of Spring?eld’s annual fundraiser. A ticketed, self-guided tour of six loft locations, many available as vacation rentals, is from noon to 4 p.m.

Consider spending a weekend uptown to experience the lively community that Historic C-Street has become. Enjoy “sneak peeks,” as many of our lofters throw their doors open, sharing their spaces with visitors curious about how much fun urban life can be.

Drop in at the Missouri Hotel to see Drury Architects’ community revisioning concepts for the nearly-vacant campus.

C-Street City Market Season Opening Celebration begins at 9 a.m., at the Jefferson Avenue Footbridge, a day full of music, entertainment, Tai Chi and a Kid Zone until 4 p.m. With over 65 vendors offering an array of produce, baked goods, hand crafted and antique items, see for yourself how a Saturday stroll on Historic C-Street has become a weekend tradition for those seeking to slow down and reconnect with friends and family.

C-Street’s First Center City Croquet Challenge ?nds five neighborhood teams vying for the title of Center City Croquet Champs. Matches between Woodland Heights, Grant Beach, West Central, Midtown and C-Street are on the hour from noon to 3 p.m. at 503 W. Commercial, followed by a traveling trophy and awards presentation at 4 p.m. at the C-Street City Market.

Pop-up sales, open houses and sneak peeks by merchants, artisans and residents are all part of the annual day-long celebration.

As Rebekah Batson, C-Street’s City Market manager says,“It’s the kind of day that showcases how sweet it is to live, work and play in the community that is Historic C-Street.”

Advance tickets are $10 at Maschino’s and Big Momma’s and Pizza House.
Event day tickets are $12 at the C-Street City Market, $5 for students with ID.
