Sherman Avenue from Central Street north to railroad crossing to close beginning June 6

Sherman Avenue from Central Street north to the railroad crossing will be closed for approximately four months beginning Monday, June 6 for construction work associated with the Central and Pythian Corridor Improvement Project phase 1.

The project will connect Central Street to Pythian Street with a new roundabout at Sherman Avenue. The improvements will incorporate a system for vehicles, bikes and pedestrians and include relocating the traffic signal on National Avenue from Central Street to Pythian Street.

Funding for the project comes from miscellaneous sources.

Delays can be expected in and around this area for the next four months. Drivers are asked to use caution when driving through the project and use alternate roadways when possible.
