The Missouri Job Center Branson will be assisting the Veterans and Military Coalition of the Ozarks with a Veteran Resource Fair & Hiring Event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, April 25, 2017. The event will be held in Branson at the Faith Lutheran Church, 221 Malone St. The Resource Fair will include local representatives from a variety of agencies, and the Hiring Event will be focused on Veteran friendly employers.
Veterans, Active/Retired National Guard and Reserve Service members and family members are all encouraged to attend this event to meet with local resource representatives and Veteran friendly employers all in one place. The Resource Fair is also open to the general public seeking veteran information. Local agency representatives attending will be available representing VA Benefits, Service Officers, Family Assistance, Behavioral Health, Financial and Legal Guidance, Employment and Training, and additional services.
Attending agencies include Catholic Charities, Peeps in Recover, Cox - Certified Application Counselors, United Way, Legal Liaison for Veterans Affairs, Healthy Families Task Force, Jordan Valley Health, Disabled American Veterans (DAV), Salvation Army, Family Support Division, OACAC, American Red Cross, Missouri Veteran's Commission, Veterans and Military Coalition of the Ozarks (VMCO), Legal Aid of Southern Missouri, Veterans Affairs Clinic, and the Missouri Job Center.
The Ozark Region Workforce Development Board and Missouri Job Center serve the counties of Christian, Dallas, Greene, Polk, Stone, Taney, and Webster. The Ozark Region boasts three Missouri Job Center locations (Branson, Springfield, and North Springfield), as well as a Mobile Career Center. The Ozark Region has a long history of working with job seekers and businesses to meet the workforce needs of our community.
The Veterans and Military Coalition of the Ozarks (VMCO) is a coalition of local area veterans, military and community support organizations. VMCO's purpose is to: (1) Aggressively promote issues important to our veterans, military and their families through unity, strength, community based grass roots veterans’ advocacy and legislative initiatives; (2) Develop, implement, promote and support programs that benefit local veterans, military and their families; (3) Foster cooperation and communications among veterans’ organizations, military organizations and community support organizations in the interest of improving direct support that benefits veterans, military and their families within our geographic area.
