Who: The City of Springfield Department of Workforce Development
What: Official opening of the inaugural Build My Future Construction Showcase
When: Wednesday, April 12 at 8:45 a.m.
Where: The E-Plex at the Ozark Empire Fairgrounds
Why: According to the annual State of the Workforce Survey by the Ozark Region Workforce Development Board, 81% of construction employers struggled to fill positions in 2016. With 81% of construction employers planning on expanding in the next 1-5 years, the Ozark Region is needing to increase the talent pipeline. Build My Future will introduce approximately 900 high school students in a 10-county area to the various opportunities in the Construction and Trades industry.
