FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Area employers and parents are welcome to attend the First Annual Good Job Parent Roundtable at the Missouri Job Center, 2900 E. Sunshine St., 5-7 p.m. Nov. 1, for a lively discussion revolving around developing the workforce of the future. Dinner will be served.
This roundtable is a direct result from the September Youth Roundtable Event where area junior and senior high school students were asked a variety of questions regarding the workforce and career paths. The answers given by the youth in attendance were then reworked into questions and will be asked to parents in attendance at the Good Job Parent Roundtable. The purpose of this event is to help parents measure their impact on their children’s futures in the workforce.
The Good Job Parent Roundtable is a continuation of several other industry specific roundtables that have been held at the Missouri Job Center to address employer needs and to hear feedback from workforce participants. The Missouri Job Center’s goal is to continue assisting in the needs of the local workforce and employers to maintain and grow the Ozark Region’s economic stability. In the long term, this event will continue to help employers learn how to attract the up-and-coming workforce and what parents can do to help promote Good Jobs for their children.
