New initiative aims to bring the Missouri Job Center to the public

SPRINGFIELD, MO – If you happen to be around the Park Central Square in Downtown Springfield on November 7-9 be sure to look for the Missouri Job Center’s One-Stop Pop-Up Shop. Staff will be available at the One-Stop Pop-Up Shop from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on November 7, 8, and 9 on the Southwest Corner of Park Central Square to assist job seekers and hand out promotional items.

This will be the first stop for the Pop-Up Shop and eventually it will be making the rounds to locations within the Missouri Job Center’s seven-county region. Often, barriers like transportation can prevent job seekers from visiting Job Centers, so to counteract that problem these Pop-Up Shops will consist of Job Center staff converging upon a visible area within the community and reaching out to those who wish to obtain employment or find training. On-site staff will provide some services offered at the Missouri Job Center, including a chance for attendees to complete a resume, search for available jobs, and gather information on job skills and other areas of employment.

For information about the event, please contact Sally Payne, [email protected] , (417) 841-3320.
