At tonight’s meeting, City Council is expected to vote on a resolution to limit tethering dogs within the city limits of Springfield. The Springfield-Greene County Health Department has created a video about why tethering is bad for man’s best friend. It will be available on SGCHD’s Facebook page at facebook.com/sgchd.

Public Safety

• The Springfield Fire Department has received the final results of the community’s recent formal Insurance Services Office (ISO) evaluation. The department is pleased to announce that out of 100 possible points, Springfield received 86.06 points, a 5-point improvement over four years ago. This score allows the City of Springfield to maintain its excellent Class 2 ISO rating. ISO classifies communities from 1 (the best) to 10 (the worst). ISO ratings are important because they serve as a community’s public protection classification and they impact on insurance ratings.
